Drug addiction is a painful enough scenario to experience. The only thing that is more frightening to an addict is the detox process. We can’t sugar coat it and tell you that this process is going to be pleasant. It’s going to be uncomfortable and in some cases painful. The details of your detox depend on the details of your drug addiction. For instance, detox from alcohol is going to be different than detox from opiates.
What we can tell you is that you need to get the drugs out of your system in order to begin the healing process. As painful as that may be, the light at the end of the tunnel is that you get to start over. You get to forgive yourself so that you can heal mentally as well as physically. During the detox process, we will be there to make you as comfortable as we can because there is no need for you to suffer any more. The professionals at La Ventana Treatment Centers will be with you throughout the entire rehabilitation process and will be able to answer any questions of you or your family along the way. Visit their web site today at www.laventanatreatment.com to begin the process of conquering addiction!

One of the hardest things to do is to admit that you or a loved one has a problem with drugs. As soon as this step is made, you then have to ask what you can do about it. Drug rehab may just be the best alternative for several reasons.
There is always an underlying reason that people use drugs. Rather than deal with that reason, they distract themselves with drug use or other things in their environment. Drug rehab takes them out of that environment and creates a schedule that allows them minimal opportunities to have to make any kind of choices outside of dealing with their addiction. From the detox to the completion of the program, nothing is more important than dealing with the addiction and the underlying cause for it. As scary as it may be to put yourself or a loved one in an unfamiliar environment, it is even scarier to imagine a world in which the addiction gets worse until the end result is death or a quality of life that is intolerable. La Ventana is committed to providing rehabilitation services that will offer both compassion and care to your loved one. Many people who suffer from bulimia might not admit it, but there will be clues. Signs to look for include weight gain, a change in eating habits, inability to control eating (consuming a lot at once), hiding food in strange places, high blood pressure and/or cholesterol. leg and joint pain or insomnia.
If you suspect that your loved one has bulimia, seek eating disorder treatment before this disorder had a long term impact on the health of your loved one.

Have you ever known someone who considers themselves to be social drinkers while others speculate that they may have a drinking problem? Alcohol addiction is one of those things that doesn’t necessarily mean that the drinker is intoxicated all day every day. People who use alcohol to feel at ease in social situations, people who become the life of the party after a few drinks and those who turn to alcohol in times of stress or anger are all potentially addicted to alcohol.
It is possible to be addicted to alcohol and still manage to not drink until after work or when others are around. These are the people who make it to happy hour after work every day without fail, who have more than one or two drinks during a couple hours and who notice that they begin to feel a bit twitchy and irritable if they have to miss their regularly scheduled drinking time. While they attend work, and may not get falling down drunk every evening, they are still dependent upon alcohol to keep themselves on what they feel is an even keel.
This is still a form of alcohol addiction that many refer to as being a functioning drunk. There are outpatient alcohol treatment programs which can help with this sort of alcoholism without interfering with work.
